How long does a visit visa to the UK take to get? I am applying from the USA.?

I'm not visiting for a holiday, I'm going to Africa and will be in transit. I have to switch airports from Heathrow to Gatwick. Apparently I need a visit visa for this.

Shouldn't take to long, maybe a month/6 weeks.

Its easy peasy to obtain a Visa for the UK now.

We let in anybody especially those from poor Country's as we give them free housing, cash benefits, free English lessons, pay their council tax, give them free travel tokens and food coupons.

We are what you call a UK FREEBIE STATE, for all the World to take the p**s out of.

I dont think you are one of those, but you should have no problem, good luck.

PS: Fact, Since the UK joined the EU, the crime rate for rapes, robberies, muggings and murder in Poland has dropped 26%.

Reason, they are all here and our crime rate by immigrants has soared, so has the prison inmates.

Depending on what nationality you are.  Some countries may have longer waiting periods to issue a visa.  If you're an American, you don't need a visa to visit the UK.  Go to the UK Consulate website and look for approximate wait times under the "Visa and Visiting the UK" link if you're from a country that requires a visa to enter the UK.
