How long does blu ray lasers last?

i heard that they're better than those red lasers and last longer

From what I've heard, they hold roughly 25gigs for single layer, 50ish gigs for double layer and that their life expectancy is greater than yours. the laser is simply smaller than the red lasers, which lets them put more information on the disc. I heard  an ultraviolet dvd is in the works that will hold up to 500gigs each. Here's hoping that one doesn't take 16hours to burn the entire thing.
