How long does drivers training take before you can get your licence?

I live in detroit Michigan. I am a senior in high school and should have had this done a long time ago but unfortunately things dont always work out. I need to know long segment one and segment two are, and how long you have to wait before you can take the other, the requirements to get a permit, and then how you go about getting your licence after getting you permit. I am sixteen, but will be seventeen october 5. Also if you can, provide info on how to sign up for drivers at a place like sears or at a local high school. Thanks...all is appreciated :-).!

You have to practice until you know the rules, laws and how to drive. It is between life and death your dealing. I know you can do it, take some patience though.
