How long does edible markers last?

-i can't find any individual black edible marker. they are usually sold in packs. i just need a black marker for a cake that i am making. if i don't use the other markers can i use them later on. but how long can it last through? thanks.

They don't really have an expiration date. They are food colouring and food colouring lasts quite long.
