How long does green belt six sigma certification take?

I have my heart set on interning for Abbott laboratories next summer, and though I will be done with my engineering degree, I would like to have started working on six sigma certification since they highly value it. Can anyone give me a few numbers on how long this certification takes, and whether or not it is a good idea (or possible) to do while finishing up my degree (8-12 units a quarter)? I am very good at working and managing multiple projects at once, so I am really motivated to take on this challenge.

I am Six Sigma green belt certified.  For me, this included 1 week of training per month for 3 months and then I had to complete one project which took a couple months more after the training period.
