How long does is generally take to get through customs Canada- have connecting flight 1hr. half after arrival.

  1. As the previous posters indicated, it depends on the airport and time of day.  Toronto would probably take the longest, and then it also depends on which airline you will be transfering to.  If your arrival plane is at all late, it will not give you a lot of time, so that is also part of the equation.  I like to have at least two hours if I have to clear Customs and also catch a connecting flight.


  2. Time taken will depend on the airport, how many flights have just landed, and what type of entry you are attempting.

    In general, Canada has a very efficient system and and rarely takes me more than 10-20 minutes.  Sometimes, if I am on a late flight, I can get through in 5 minutes.  Vancouver is more efficient and friendly than Toronto... Toronto agents love to grill people.

  3. Make sure they know when you check in, and you might consider trying to just take carryon to speed it up.

    If you have all your paperwork in order in your hand, it helps too.
