How long does it, or should it take?

To receive something sent from Gary IN, to Bay City MI. It was sent by 1st class mail on May 27th. Have yet to get it.

8 days is too long.  The letter is lost or mis-directed.  Tell the postmaster.

Edit: Even if it was not a letter, 8 days is too long, even for a big box.  Postmasters care about lost mail.  They worry that a carrier might be dumping mail rather than delivering.  They usually investigate and sometimes a lost letter is found.
