How long does it take a male and femal leopard gecko to show intrest?

I had a female Leo for about 6 months I have just recently put a male in with her. How long will it take for them to show intrest in each other?? She seems to run away any time he gets close to her...... kinda liked she is scared!

  1. It may just be that she doesn't like him and feels threatened by him.  Some males and females live together just fine and others don't.  But for health and safety reasons, leopard geckos shouldn't be allowed to mate until they're at least a year old. I would suggest you separate them until they're(especially the female) a full year.  If they're not fully developed before breeding the female can become egg bound, cause damage to her immature body and it can kill her. It's in her best interest that you allow her to grow more first.


  2. You might try getting them drunk,,,it`s worked for me on several occasions...
