I have been singing for about 4 months now, and I did some singing in 7th grade. I am eighteen years old. I am planning to try out for grease in March of next year, I just want to know what is my shot of getting a least a decent part. I have acting in other things, I have sang/acting in an opera. However I know my pitch is off still when hitting those high notes any pointers. Thanks

  1. Relative pitch means that you can judge (and match, usually) pitches when given a standard.  That means if I play a "C" on the piano, you can then sing a "C".  If you are singing out of tune on some notes, and you recognize this, you have already "achieved relative pitch".

Familiarize yourself with all of the female parts in the musical, determine which are within your range (high/low), and practice with a coach who will honestly evaluate your pitch, tone and interpretation.

Note that a recording device can sub for a live coach.

When you audition, try to respond to questions in brief and simple terms.  Your written grammar is "slangy/street" in tone - and the writers of stage plays have very specific character based speech they write - be neutral and as educated in tone as you can.
