How long does it take a textbook to deliver by media mail?

I am barely entering college and is my first time ordering something

on line. I live at California and i order a book from Minnesota on half.com by general media mail. Does someone know when i will receive my delivery?

  2. I was at the post office yesterday and heard the post man tell the guy in front of me that media mail could take up to 21 days.  I live in Wisconsin and his package was going to CA.

    Now I do agree that this is probably a worse cases.  Probably one that you could see around Christmas time when the post office is more busy but here is how it works.

    When you ship media mail (which is only good for books) you are telling the post office that you don't have any worries about when it will arrive.  These items are placed in a special bin.  Every time they hit a station that bin is put in the back of the line.  After they process next day, priority and then first class they will work on the media mail.

    So as you can see it can take a while.  But I would expect you should have it in 7-10 days.
