  1. if you are thinking of competing before starting then maybe anywhere from 6 months to 2 years, i did it, i wanted to train for 1 year and then body condition for a year but my teacher said i was good enough 6 months in. the thing is i think its good to have a fight early on then you know exactly what and how to train for yourself, have the fight go in there expecting to get your *** kicked for the sake of education and then go back and train for another 6 months

  2. There is no answer to the question.  It depends on how athletic you are naturally, the quality of your training, your ability to learn, the rate at which you can learn, etc.  There are many people who fight after only a few months of training.  Others never compete.  It is all up to you.

  3. You can get in there now for amateur bouts.  As long as you know the rules and the basic strikes and defense, I say go for it.  I would make sure it's a competition that uses shin guards, 16 oz gloves, and head gear - otherwise you can get really busted up and injured.

But so long as you have adequate protection - go for it.  You may get beaten, but it will teach you something about yourself.  What you need to work on, what works for you, how you react to your opponent... all things a person must know to advance.  Learn where you are weak and strong and you'll start to develop a personal style / approach in the ring.

  4. a couple of weeks if your on the burgen king diet.

  5. when your coach thinks youre ready, they will let you know, even encourage you to compete, but not a moment before youre really, really ready

  6. i think it depends on the skill and experience of the opposition...if your both new to the game and have each had a few months, put the pads on and have at it.

  7. Well I have been doing muai thai since I was 13 and im 18 years old know, I trained with alot of thai guys and even went to thailand to fight, my sefu witch is just a name I called my teacher, like sensi, he told me I could start to fight in the ring when ever I wanted, he had a grand sun that was only 3 years old and was gonna fight in the same card as me after only after like 5 months of thai training, and I was like 14 at the time.
