  1. Almost no time at all.  Dump it in and give yourself 10 minutes.


  2. It depends on the water temperature, the size of the chlorine granules and if there's a bit of water flow going past where the granules have dropped to the bottom.

    The warmer the water, the smaller the granules and the faster the water current past them...the quicker they dissolve. So, almost instantly or quite some time, even an hour.
