  1. usually just a few days.

deer will get used to whatever is around them. I hunt farms often... they dont bat an eye at tractors or trucks. I have had the best results in woodlots that have human traffic on a regular basis all summer.

  2. It doesn't take too long in farm country; maybe a day or two.  Those deer are used to intrusions.  Deep woods deer could be spooked for much longer.  The trick to doing this is to set up your stand in the middle of the day, when deer are bedded down.  You have less risk of spooking deer at that time.  If you jump bedded deer, then you are hunting too close to their bedding area.  Back off and find a trail leading into the bedding area.

  3. In most cases, it will take them from a couple days to as long as a week to become accustomed to a deer stand once it is put in place.  It depends on how big the blind is, whether it is in a tree or on the ground and how accustomed the deer are to human devices in an area.  If I am going to put up a blind, I want to be sure it is finished at least a week prior to my planned use of it.  Three weeks to a month ahead of my planned use is better.

  4. It also depends on how much of the natural environment you damaged in ptting it up... if you backed up your F-650 and knocked down 46 trees and spilled 34 gallons of diesel... youre probably going to have to wait longer than if you really minded your surroundings and tried extra hard to not disturb anything you didnt have to.

  5. This happens very quickly.  People tend to forget that white tail deer are very curious animals usually investigate very quickly.  Upon investigating their curiosity is generally served and they could care less.  A week is enough time, maybe even less if the deer are use to hearing, smelling and seeing humans out and about some of the time.

Completely agree with Jeff.  In fact I tend to be a little active in the area I plan on hunting.  Better to get the deer use to hearing and smelling you than for them to get their first whiff of a human 30 minutes before shooting light.

  6. Deer are a creature of habbit.  Stay clear for 2-3 mornings and things will be back to normal.  I have known young bucks to be shot at and missed several morinings in a row and still show up at the same place, same time, day after day.  Not true for the older, wiser animals.

    Hope this helps.

  7. The answer depends on what deer are you hunting- farmland deer and wood lot deer, and even deer that live close to surburbia will not be bothered very much by the activity. However, if hunting in deep woods, if  the deer are disturbed very much, they will just move over some what and abandon that area for a short while or perhaps 2-3 weeks. Sometimes because of the big woods deer following food sources, they may abandon an area if you do not even go into the woods.

  8. They don't need any time to adjust at all.* It never had any effect on the Deer for me.*
