How long does it take dvla to send you car number plates plese help?

i brought a car and payd the guy,the guy has privert plates on the ar and wants to keep them and he wont let me take ar home tillhe gets the original plates he contacted dvla and sais he selling a car and he wants to keep his privert plates and he wants the original plates so he can keep his plates he sorting it out with dvla and he txt me other day and said he got the number plate forms from dvla and he sending them back tomorrow tuesday 26th if dvla reseave the forms wednesday anyone know how long it will take till he gets the plates?any idea?i really wanna pick car up but he wont let mehave it till original plates come please help

3-5 week,providing there arnt any problems... i hope you havent payed for the car yet...i smell a possible scam,theres no reason why u cant have the car now....be vary weary

if he was selling th car he should have sorted this out in advance

- you paid for a car then let the owner keep it!

check this with the police and report it!!

It'll take a while but as stated previously, I can't understand why the seller didn't have this sorted before he advertised the car for sale.

If you haven't paid yet, cancel the deal and go elsewhere.
