  1. About 30 minutes, but why don't you try a hot bath in the mean time. Or, apply a heating pad to the painful area.

  2. Fifteen to thirty minutes. Aleve never worked for me, but some people do have success with it. I either take Advil or Vicodin.

  3. tylenol extra strength 8 hour, takes me like 8-10 mins. if your aleve today takes longer than that, my suggestion would be to switch.

  4. try not to focus to much on it and strangly it'll work fster but within about 10-15 min at the most it always start to work for me . hope u start feeling better soon. also try a heating pad...(or heat of any kind)

  5. There are different types of pain medication, and they all tackle slightly different pains.

Aleve is naproxen, and that is usually for joints and when they swell.  I take that for when I have knee strain or hip joint pain.  It takes longer to kick in, and you take one dose for like 12 hours.

Tylenol, or acetominophen, is more of a blood thinner, which is why it is best for fever and headaches, whenever your blood vessels would be constricted and cause pain.  Tylenol takes like 15 mins to kick in and lasts around 4-6 hours.

Advil or ibuprofen, usually is used to relax muscles, like when you strain your muscles or when they ache.  I would actually recommend this for cramping, as your uterus is a muscle.  The only downside to Advil is that if you take a lot over and over, that it can cause stomach problems which are no fun.  But taking it every once in awhile to cure a muscle ache for a few days won't hurt you.  It also takes around 15 mins to kick in and lasts 4-6 hours.

Oh, and to make cramping really disappear when meds don't work, a heating pad, or a washcloth you dampen and put in the microwave for a few seconds... I find that works best.  Baths don't usually do it for me, and netier do showers.

  6. for me it takes at least 45 minutes, but i take 1 tylenol and 1 aleve or excedrin to get rid of pain faster. My doctor told me this. something with the two ingredients active with each other and it works alot better. hope this helps :)
