How long does it take for Habanero Peppers to turn Orange on the plant?

I've got several Habanero pepper plants, yeilding several large green Habanero peppers. I was told to wait untill they turn Red/Orange on the plant to pick them. How long does it take them to rippen on the plant?

Some stay red, they never turn orange, although some will turn orange, and yellow.. Some will be half red and half green. Some turn chocolate brown. Do a google image search. Pick them when they look "good." A red isn't "bad".. The first ones will be smaller than the subsequent ones when ripe.
