Hey everyone i was wondering how long does it take for a an extracted bicuspid space get filled by a lateral inscisor?(here's a diagram if you dont know what teeth those are: http://www.lpch.org/photos/greystone/ei_0017.gif ) Anyway i got my 4 bicuspids removed a week ago and just got y braces back on and they are healing great and it's not even that sore. My top teeth were bucking out so they removed the bicuspids to make the top teeth/jaw move back, so my upper teeth don't buck out.

And i was wondering does anyone know usually how long it will take for the lateral inscisors to move into where the space where the bicuspids were extracted?

Any info would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

  1. Ask your orthodontist, that is the person with the information pertaining to your situation.....

  2. Typically an orthodontist will take 24-28 months to complete a case like this on average.

  3. Unfortunately, everyone is different, and every situation is unique.  You really do need to ask your orthodontist if you are getting braces, and if not, you need to have a discussion with your general dentist.
