How long does it take for a charge to go against your bank account when buying something on-line with PayPal?

I recently purchased something online using Paypal linked to my checking account. Paypal said that I paid for it and the company has emailed me saying my package is on its way. The thing is the money that I was using to pay for it still remains in my checking account. Both my "Available and Ledger" are untouched and have been this way for 3 days now. Is this normal? Or could something have possibly gone wrong?

Usually next day. Sounds like the seller has not "accepted" the payment. Until they click the PayPal button on your payment to accept it, the money will stay in your account.
