  1. Ouch..hehehe. In our individual status of life ( imune system) are not the same. So you can not realy perdict time to heal, all you can do is care for it and keep it clean. Let mother nature take its course and he will be ok. Not to worry, Everything will be fine.

  2. you can have it done in the hospital and it takes about a week to a week and 1/2 to heal. If you put vasaline white) It will heal faster.

  3. They did my sons before we left the hospital. If you get a choice go with the bell method it looks like it doesn't hurt as much and it is easier to clean. My first son they did the other way I guess by cutting it. It was very raw and looked like it hurt. This time around We went with the other way and likes it much better. It healed about a week or 2 later

  4. You should never have him circumcised. It's his p***s and only he should make that decision when he is an informed adult.

I am a circumcised man and it was not botched but I feel that I was mutilated against my will.

I am actually in the process of restoring my f******n non-surgically as I am extremely angry and disappointed that a healthy, functioning part of my body was removed for no good reason other than societal customs.

The risks are very small, but many boys have lost their penises due to botched circumcisions and some have even died due to bleeding or infection.

The risk is very small but it is a risk that I would never even consider when the alternative is to leave my son the way that he is intended to be and carries no risk of death or disfigurement.

I think that it is important for everyone to read what's behind the following link.

PS - If you have Netflix, or Blockbuster Online I STRONGLY recommend that you watch the documentary, "The Business of Being Born". Everyone thinks of hospitals as the place to give birth but countries that have higher percentages of assisted home births have lower rates of maternal and infant mortality. A hospital birth is one that gives no respect to the way a woman's body works or her right to a natural birth.

  5. You shouldn't get them circumcised at all.

Healing normally takes a couple of weeks, assuming no complications (these are common and some of them show up 2 years down the track.)

  6. With my son, the first day there was a bit of swelling, very little bleeding. The swelling was gone completely within a week. We treated it with neosporin + pain relief at every diaper change re the directions we received from the mohel. As we are Jewish, it was done at 8 days of age, in our home. For people who say it takes 30 minutes and is horribly painful, my son had a topical anesthetic - that's it- and he actually didn't cry at all. It took less than 20 seconds just as I was promised and there was never any visible cut. I take that back- he cried a bit when the mohel took the wine-soaked gauze away from his lips. There is, as is often the case, recent data to support the 5,000 year old tradition circumcising on the 8th day of life- the 8th day is when the blood clotting capabilities stabilize-which may help explain why you so rarely hear of complaints/complications in Jewish males. Based on the blood clotting knowledge, I would suggest doing it after 8 days.

  7. It never "heals"..the damage is permanent!....Don't mutilate your son!

  8. my son's took 10 days to heal. just make sure oyu keep puting vasline on it so the diaper doesnt stick

  9. I think about a week or two.  But after all the gauze and bleeding you still need to be really careful until they are about 2 months old.  Remember not to pull back any skin to clean it until it is completely healed.

My son is 5 months and I think it took 8 days or so.  I put white vasaline on with a guaze over it to protect and keep the diaper from sticking.  After it was pretty healed up I still put the vasaline and guaze on for another week or so because I am a freakazoide and wanted to make sure it was all healed up.  After that I was very careful when giving him a bath, I didn't want to pull back the skin too much incase it was still sensitive, but you still need to clean it, just be careful.

  10. Why do you automatically assume he should be circumcised?

If his dad is, then that is no good reason.  The doctors in those days didn't know any better.  Now they do, and they don't recommend it.

The AAP and all other medical associations in the world say that even if there are slight medical benefits, the risks of circumcision far outweigh them. You can see a critical examination of the studies here:

    http://www.cirp.org/library/disease

Circumcision is not medically necessary - it is considered non-therapeutic.  This is why some health insurance companies won't pay for it.  So if the doctors don't recommend it and it costs you money - what kind of an idiot would do it?  Why put your child at risk of a serious complication? http://www.catholicsagainstcircumcision....

Caring for an intact boy is a lot easier.  There is no wound to take care of and you won't be popping back to the doctor to repair a botched circumcision which are surprisingly common.  Some ignorant people assume that if you don't get it done at birth then he will have to get it done later.  Bull!  80% of the world is uncut. I am uncut so are the rest of my family - nobody has had any health problems in relation to our p***s's.  Virtually all problems can be sorted without the need for circumcision anyway.

Advice on caring for an intact boy:

*Do not retract the f******n.  Just leave it alone - it becomes retractable by itself.  The more you force it, the more you create scar tissue - which is inelastic.

*Just use water to clean the p***s (on the outside) .  Soap can cause irritation because it contains volatile chemicals.  He is at no risk by you just leaving him be - whatever substances the p***s forms are natural - they aren't "dirty" as some ignorant people will have you believe.

*Once intact boys get to the later teenage years (the f******n is normally retractable by then) they normally start washing under the f******n while in the shower.  This takes 2 seconds and if you don't do it - it really is no big deal -believe me - the  worst that would happen is that it may smell a bit. But most kids will wash enough so that it doesn't smell.

--The special role of the f******n--

The f******n isn't just a flap of skin.  And it does matter if you cut it off.

The f******n is actually the most sensitive part of the p***s.  There are thousands of nerves contained on the underside of the f******n. These are stimulated as the skin is moved up and down, you can see an illustration of this 'gliding motion' here:

    http://geocities.com/painfulquestioning/...

This gliding motion makes s*x more comfortable for the woman and also enables the man to m********e easily.  Isn't nature great?  Now contrast that with the circumcised p***s -he has lost all mobility so s*x is painful for the woman and he has a hard time masturbating.  He has to artificially create the gliding motion with the use of lube.

Once the f******n has been cut off the p***s - the glans is no longer protected.  Consequently it gets irritated by clothes.  And so a coarse, leathery layer of skin forms over the glans which further reduces sensitivity.

Both the loss of sensitivity and the gliding motion are discussed at this website:

    http://www.sexasnatureintendedit.com/10F...

The rate of circumcision in the USA is falling.  It used to be 80-90%, but now the latest figure shows only 55% of boys were circumcised.  Presumably this will get lower as more people get educated on the subject.  Circumcision in Europe is less than 5% btw.  Britain dispensed of this practice years ago:

1949 article in British Medical Journal: http://www.cirp.org/library/general/gair...

Finally here is a blog on circumcision which provides graphical illustrations and goes over everything I just mentioned:

    http://wreckingboy.livejournal.com/31854...

  11. it depends on the baby

it may heal in 2 weeks and it may never heal

what you should know for sure is that it will lose over half its surface area and nerves forever

I think its a decision a grown man should make about his own body

No national or international medical association recommends routine circumcision.

Medicalized circumcision began during the 1800s to prevent masturbation, which was believed to cause disease.

Today's parents are learning that the f******n is a normal, protective, functioning organ.
