when it turns yellow, uh well about a week or less but lemons are so sweet when its done just eat it plain.

Depends.  If you bought it at a store it is ripe at point of sale.  If you have them in your garden then when they are a nice brite yellow.  Lemons like oranges do not further ripen once picked.
