How long does it take for a letter to come and the points to go on your licence if you been caught speeding?

Im petrified, i only passed my test 6 months ago and was driving in a area i didnt know. I went round a round a bout and was in the wrong lane as i come off i sped up to get ahead of the cars in the right lane! My mate shouted to slow down as there is a speed camera by there when i looked at my speed i was doing 43mph in a 30! Have i been caught? How long does it take to find out? Im only aloud 6 points for the first 2 years then im banned! Im quite sensible but was nervous and sped up to avoid a crash!

You and your insurance company should be notified between 30 to 90 days.

Around here that would only be around 2 points and you should find out in about 2 weeks
