Sometimes at busy occasions (Christmas, easter) it takes longer, maybe a week.

I wish I could tell you but the postcards I sent from Dublin in June of 2007 still haven't arrived, but the ones my friends sent came in about 3-4 days.

the correct postage rate for USA is 82 cent.  that will send it air mail and will be delivered in 4 days.

if a 55 cent stamp is used it will go surface mail and take 6 weeks.
