How long does it take for a potential employer to run a consumer investigative report?

I had an interview last THursday, which went well, and received the online application (final step on my end) the same day. Completed the app and return immediately and signed the disclosure for them to run either a 'consumer report or an investigative consumer report.' I know 'no news is good news' but I haven't heard anything and I'm getting a bit nervous. I don't have any contact email addys, this is for a Aetna insurance... any feedback is appreciated!

  1. It depends on how busy they are and how many they are running.  Then Human Resources has to read through them and make sure that everything looks good.  It doesn't surprise me if it takes a full week, and sometimes a bit more.  After giving it the amount of time that they recommended (if they said 7-10 days, then give it the full 10 days), follow up with a 'courtesy call' to see if they had made a decision yet.  Don't be pushy.  Just be polite.  They will understand.

    Good luck to you!!
