How long does it take for a re-entry permit to be approved and for me to acquire it?

If I plan to leave the US for 10-11 months, starting June 2008, should I file for a re-entry permit already? How long before I know if it was approved and how long will it take for them to give it to me? Will the Embassy send it to me? Thanks very much! :)

please do that before you leave the country, no the embassy will not sent it to you, matters have to be taken care # before you leave #

are you a permanent resident of the US?

traveling outside the US without prior could be severe to permanent residentn it will show that you have abandonned your status in the US;

you will need before you leave to fill out a # I-131 #  form
