I just got my braces off at 1130 this morning and then i had a basketball game about an hour ago .......... i got hit in the mouth and my bottom left tooth moved a lot....i ran to the bathroom like right off the court it was bleeding and i pushed it back in place with my tongue .... it was bleeding from my lip a lot but not much from my tooth i immediately ran to my car and got my retainer ..... put the bottom piece in and felt the teeth moving back to there original spot the pain has subsided in the past hour and now its down to a mild ache and the blood is gone i brushed my teeth gently when i got home to make sure there was no dis coloration but i want to know how long will it take till i see if my tooth is going to turn black and is there anything i can drink / take or do to reduce the chances?

  1. your tooth will take ages to go black, go to your dentist though as you might get a infection and that wont be nice at all.. trust me had that not nice. please could email me regarding laptop virus as i have tried emailing you but you dont accept emails. thanks

  2. A long time.

Teeth are bones and just like bones, they can take decades to turn black

  3. your tooth might not turn black. it usually will only turn black if the tooth is dead or something. its not like your skin which would bruise if something like that happened. i would just ice your face a lot and do not take off your retainer
