  1. A couple minutes at the most.  Depends on how fast the employee is that does it.  You should be in and out of the store in under 10 minutes.

  2. It just takes a few minutes........very quick.  If it's a car key with the security chip in it, you'd have to go thru a car dealer and I don't know how long that takes, but your average key is just a few minutes.

  3. I believe it takes about 10-30 minutes

  4. It only takes a couple of minutes...if its a newer key (new style lock) its better to go to Home depot or Canadian Tire, they have a better variety of blanks...sometimes a corner store doesn't have the blank key you'd need for a copy

  5. just a few mins

a great place to go to is a small hardware type store on augusta...leading up to kensington market

its just before the first corner, after a boat-themed restaurant/lounge(called The Boat) i believe

  6. Most variety stores can not cut keys, but most hardware stores can do it.

The largest of chain-type stores, Home Hardware, Home Depot, Rona, or Canadian Tire, will do it in all of their stores and even Walmart will do it in most stores.

In many plazas there is a small company called Key-man (or a variation of that name) and they will do it for you while you wait.

for the time needed, normally, it takes longer to find the appropriate blank than it takes to actually cut the key.

Cutting time is not more than one minute for a single-sided key, perhaps two minutes longer for a double-sided one, because the blank has to be repositioned and then cut a second time, but the machines used in some stores will do both sides at  once.
