How long does it take for a virus to get into your computer

lets say you click on something infected, how long will it take to start to hurt your comp.

Immediately, if the virus was written to do so immediately.

Some virus' don't deploy their programming until a certain date and time.

It all depends on the programming.

It may gather information, Upload the information to a FTP server and then destroy your computer.

It could start to harm your computer as soon as it reaches your computer.

There are endless possibilities on when it starts to harm your computer.

well....it all depends on if the virus lol

or in real terms as quick as ur broadband will give it a lift into ur pc lol

they can remain dormant or be busy ickle bees straight away and start kicking sh*t outta ur system...ive heard also of men getting battered too.....HONESTLY LOL

Depends which type of viruse your talking about. Some viruse have a hibernation period, that means for eg  you may think you have a useful program installed but in a couple of days some of that program files would turn into viruses then it will start damaging your PC.

Other viruses for instance are downloaded from the internet, they ussually have an instant affect on your PC.

It hard to say when you'll be affected by the viruse since there is just so many. Keep an up-to date anti-viruse software installed always and perform regular scans. Also be careful about the things you do online,.

If you do this i doubt you'll ever be bothered with a viruse.
