without the medication? I told my mom and i am going to wait it out, because she said they normally go away on their own. I am 99% sure its a yeast infection, and don't tell me to go to the doctor, because I already know. Please just answer the question... I think it is starting to go away because it is considerably less itchy then it was when i was first itchy

  1. Yeast infections DO NOT go away on their own.  At the least you need to go to the pharmacy and get the over the counter yeast infection treatment.  If after your treatment you still have the infection, or symptoms of it, you need to go the doctor and have it checked out.  Sometimes a prescription is needed to make it clear up.  I repeat: yeast infections do not go away without treatment, they only get worse.

  2. Yeast infections can go away on their own but usually it takes longer than what is comfortable to handle. If you don't want to treat it, then it will probably stick around til your period (it pretty much forces it out). But, using tampons will be painful, so I would treat it before it gets to that point.

  3. It can take months or even years to go away if it's not treated... or it can go away in a week or two - but it will almost certainly happen again soon.

  4. could take a really long time
