How long does it take for an American student to obtain a tourist visa to Nigeria?

I'm going to Nigeria this summer to do humanitarian work. I have an American passport, but I live in the Czech Republic. How long will it take me for a visa to be processed? I'm asking because I need to know what flights to book. This is very important! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

If you are a legal resident in the Czech Republic, you need to go to the Nigerian embassy there.  You will also need a work visa and not a tourist visa.  If they catch you working (even volunteer work) on a tourist visa you will be in deep sh*t.

I would have a problem doing humanitarian work in that country because it is probably the richest country in Africa.
