Question:

How long does it take for an ear piercing to heal over?

I had my ears pierced six years ago, but only wore earrings for about a year. i've had earrings in off and on again, but haven't worn earrings for more than an hour in four years. i really want my one hole to close up as the piercer really messed it up: it is way lower than my right lobe piercing, which is perfectly centred. how long will it take for it to close up? any tips for making it close faster? I've never stretched my ears with those gauge-y things, only normal earrings.

  1. mine took 2 years, but i never put an earing in for that amount of time, don't try to repearce it yourself! It will get infected, trust me iv'e done it twice, and, well, I WAS ONLY 8! Give me a break, any way, good luck, and good choice not to wear those gauge-y things, those are just plain NASTY!

  2. It might not heal over at all.......I went 5 years without wearing earrings and still had my piercings

  3. Depends on the person  my ears have grown over on me fairly quickly  like within a year   but other it takes muchh longerrr.

  4. Just leave it alone, stop putting ear rings in it. I can honestly say it may never close up compleatly. Its worth a try though. Also a sure way for it to close is to take a 10 gauge or 8 gauge taper and put it in your ear untill it bleeds then just take it out and let it heal. Yes, It will hurt pretty bad but if it wount go back just do that because trust me if you rip the skin it will heal back up totally.

  5. Lobe piercings- 3 weeks to a month.

Cartlidge- A month and sometimes a little over.
