I gave birth via c-section about four weeks ago and my bleeding was tapering off but now it recently got really heavy is this normal or should I call my doctor I read it was only if I was soaking a pad an hour it's not that bad but still heavier than as if I had my period. Should I freak out or just try and not do as much.

  1. after giving birth a woman  period tend to  be heavier, some change some stay that way

  2. I would just give them a call to be on the safe side

  3. Have you increased your activity? If so, this could be a result. The same thing happened to me. I took it easy and the bleeding tapered again. It took 8 weeks to finally stop.

  4. Mine lasted I think 8 weeks.

  5. I experienced heavy bleeding for 5&1/2 wks with my after my baby. At my visit my OB said everything was fine but if u are doing a lot of physical activities maybe u need to slow it down a little.

  6. First of all... Congratulations!!! My little girl is also 4weeks old. My loss stopped 2 weeks ago (natural birth), but started lightly again today - I am not really sure if it is normal or not - I am worried cause my husband and I had unprotected s*x 2 night ago.

I am not sure if you should contact your doctor or not... good luck - I know Im  not much help, but I just wanted you to know you're not alone

  7. This happend to me as well. I have have 2 c-sections. My bleeding would stop then all of a sudden start up again. Your body just got done having a baby. Give it some time to heal and get back to normal. If your that worried tho, go back to the OB.

  8. give it a few days. if it gets worse than it is now then call your doctor. everyone varies a little and the more active you get the more you will bleed. I bled for two weeks because I was up and active after two days.

  9. I would still call just to be on the safe side.  That's what doctors are there for.
