It depends, some "cakes" like a Twinkie (which is technically a cake) are made in a continuous process where the product travels (in multiple rows) through a long oven for the time necessary for the cake to cook.  These continuous processing lines can make small cakes at speeds of well over a thousand a minute!

    The time required to bake a cake depends on the size of the cake (and, of course, other factors).  The speed at which multiple cakes can be made depends upon the baking time, the size of the oven (how many cakes it will hold at one time), and whether the process is a continuous operation (newly mixed cakes going in while completely baked cakes come out), or a batch operation (a fixed quantity of cakes are loaded into the oven until they are fully baked).
