How long does it take for cds to be shipped from Germany to America on regular luftpost?

I got some cds off of ebay from DE and it's been two weeks. I know it can take a really long time, but how many weeks is normal, based on what you have experienced?

Normally, it takes between two and three weeks, if you have more than one CD and a package. It takes even longer if the package is held up in customs, if the sender labelled the CDs as "trade goods" and not as gift or because you went over the amount of "free goods" limit . (In that case you might have to pay import taxes, too.)

If you have just one CD sent, it usually just takes around a week and a half, but I also had it take up to three weeks.

About 7 to 10 days. That is if they are currently in stock & don't have a huge backlog of orders.

depends on how big the box is. but it shouldn't take longer than 3 weeks. my family lives in germany and when they send me medium packages, it takes about a week to be here. but it might change if you send it priority or something like that

The problem sometimes is the US customs and homeland security,as they suspect Osama´s tricks in every little parcel...;0)

Letters sent by air mail (also bigger ones) usually take 6-10 days, depending on where you live.

Packages are slower in delivery, most likely 2-4 weeks, but in some cases up to 6-8 weeks (e.g. before christmas time allow 8 weeks).

Once I got a letter or package (don't remember) with a long delay because it was first going to the Philippines for an unknown reason (the address was correct). But finally it arrived safely and undamaged.

I am a German living in the US and regularily get packages from my parents in Germany. The delay is usually in the US since the USPS does not treat foreign mail as Priority. Packages inside Germany usually arrive within one business day (the german post office statistics show that over 99% arrive within 1 day), so the package should have left Germany within 1 -2 days depending on how long customs took. After that it really depends on how fast customs in the US takes. After that the package will probably take about as long as parcel post or Media Mail in the US so another 1-2 weeks at least depending on your area.

My parents once send me a package on the 6th of december and it arrived on the 28th of February, based on the custom stamps on the package it left Germany on the 7th of December - of course this is the extreme.

If you ever get anything from Germany again, ask the seller to add USPS tracking to the package which can be purchased at the German Post office It is my experience that packages that have the USPS tracking number on them get delivered faster (probably because you can check up on their progress, so they take it more seriously).

I assume you will get your CDs within a week or so, most of the packages I receive arrive within about 2.5 to 4 weeks.

If they sent them by air, they should be here by now.  But customs sometimes holds stuff so they may be sitting there.  You'll eventually get them though, because it has happened to me several times before.
