I have a stem, about 22" long, with 5 large leaves on it, and two of the little nibs that the roots come out of in water, with those leaves removed. How long does it normally take to start seeing some roots begin to form? This cutting is off of a plant that's been a cutting of a cutting for over 30 years... i really want to do this right. :) Thanks!!

  1. It's a very simple plant to reproduce by cutting 6-inch shoots and planting several in a pot of sandy soil.

Grow your Devil's Ivy in bright, indirect sunlight. Move the plant depending on the season to produce the most vibrant leaves.

Keep the temperatures up. While the plant will tolerate cooler temperatures, it prospers in warmer environments.

Water the Devil's Ivy after its soil has completely dried out from the previous watering. Be sure to give it a lot of water each time.

Hang the Devil's Ivy from a basket, or train it to climb up a wall or pillar. The plant can be coaxed upward by placing shoots around a pole.
