How long does it take for earring holes to close?

i have the 'starter' earrings in for abou 4 1/2 weeks...i took em out and put in a different pair-skinnier too. Is it okay? or will the hole close up around it? how long about does it take to close?

6 weeks, but remember to NOT change them and put the cleaner on it.

Sometimes just a few days if you don't have anything to plug them with!

i took my first pair out after 6 weeks, and it started closing the next day. i tried putting earrings in but could only get them in halfway because it had partially closed up.

so immediately.

That's okay....just put it your other ones in once in awhile, like at home.

it depends on the person cause everyone is different, but myself, it would take a REALLY long time. :)

You should have really left the starter earrings in for six weeks. Only because they may have closed up when you were changing them, but you've done it now so it doesn't matter! If you're not going to wear the starter earrings again then it won't matter if the holes have gotten to the smaller size, as all other earrings are basically the same thickness. But just make sure you keep a pair in now.

I got an earring at 16 because it was cool. It has been 22 years and im still waiting for them to close.

No I have not worn an earring in that time.

Some never fully heal and if you go long enough without earrings they'll start to close. I got my ears re pierced a few years ago and sometimes i go months without earrings and its hard to stick the earring in because the hole is closing...but strangely its only one ear lol

as long as you keep some in for however long they say your fine. and don't listen to that whole if you change them out before then they'll get infected...not true. just keep your earrings clean and use the disinfectant they gave you.
