  1. Usually within a week they are pretty good. After two weeks they are normally really good . This is assuming the temperature is above 50.

  2. From experience w/ working on a golf course for a few years. It isn't actually grown in until about a month

  3. From what I have seen it takes a good 2 and a half to 3 weeks before they are back to normal.

  4. It varies depending on the diameter and depth of the plug removed and the type of top dressing applied after being aerated. Usually between 15 and 30 days.

  5. Average time is about a month till they are really smooth.

  6. I've been on golf courses that airated on a sunday and by thursday/friday they didn't have the holes. The greens weren't amazing again for a couple of weeks but they were playable again within a week if that's what you were wondering. How fast the grass becomes full all depends on the type of grass.

  7. Several factors enter into the playability of greens after aeration. We have a water jet machine which is used just as warm weather approaches which makes very small holes but large enough to accomodate the spreading grass. and put moisture deep into the soil. Then the plugging method where plugs are removed and sand or another porous medium is used to promote new growth and remove or discourage thatch. If weather and moisture are ideal and the plugging is done mid August to Mid September the greens usually recover in three weeks. If aeration is done too late in the year growth can be inhibited and greens will not be pristine for the rest of the season.
