How long does it take for marijuana recovery?

My boyfriend just got send into rehab a few days ago. I heard he's supposed to be staying there for a year, but something tells me it won't take that long for him to quit. He's been smoking basically everyday for almost a year. Does anyone know about how long it will take for him to get out? He hasn't been doing any other drugs besides pot and smoking cigarettes.

I have been through rehab once or twice in my life, the last time was December of 07.  One guy in there was in for marijuana and he was in for 90 days.  He had some big court issues he was facing behind his use.

A year does seem somewhat long but if his parents are paying for it the facility will keep him as long as the money is there.

And to those who say marijuana is not addictive, go spend some time in a rehab, or better yet go to an NA meeting, perhaps your tune will change.

Well marijuanna isn't really an addictive drug. I don't know why he is in rehab. Becuase you can't get addicted to it like you can other drugs. He may feel a need to smoke it but your body doesn't for a dependace on it like other drugs. He should be back home before you know it. But to answer your question, there should be no recovery time for marijuana because it's not addictive like other drugs.

Whatever his reasons where for going to rehab he should be congratulated for it.  It's a tough choice and he's made it.  Everyone is different.  DIfficult to say  how long.  Be supportive and I"m sure he'll be out before you know it.

That's retarded! Are you sure he's ONLY smoking weed? I smoked weed very regularly and excessively for about six years and I had to quit once I got pregnant and I had NO problems, no withdrawl, nothing. I wanted it sometimes, but not like I wanted nicotine. Marijuana is not believed to be a physically addictive drug, you can THINK you are addicted to it though. I can't believe someone would go to rehab for WEED, that makes a mockery of all REAL drug addicts. He should get out soon, no one thinks weed is a serious drug because it isn't. Unless his parents are jerks(which they must be for sending him there just for pot) he should come home soon.

it takes  a full seven years and tats if he dont relapse  .just  stick wit him and show  him support
