I pierced my ears 10 years ago and recently did it again. One side has been infected for 4 months. When it started to heal, the other side got infected. it has been 5 months and both look & feel ok. are they really OK? will they get infected again for no apparent reason?

  1. about a week.

  2. about a week..but don't ever try to touch it or remove the pierce..just wait for one week, good luck.

  3. There shouldn't be any reason for them to become infected after healing. As with any openings in the skin, using hydrogen peroxide and Neosporin helps fight infection and can even speed healing.

  4. a while

  5. It may be that you're having a reaction to the metal in the earrings.  Some people get nastinesses from nickel or copper in the wires.  They might be ok in an old piercing, but relatively new piercings might react.

  6. I had 4 piercings on the top of each ear...2 of them were re-pierced and got infected again...if you take care of them you have nothing to worry about...i think they might be more vulnerable to infection though... so take care of them...keep your piercings clean...
