  1. The 3 main factors are how well the body was embalmed, the moisture content of the earth, and the acidity/alkalinity of the earth there.

    Several months to many years.

  2. It takes 12years for a body to completely decompose. I saw some being dug up (because she was moving from the grave to be closer to her husbands grave) who was dead for 4 years, and her body shape was still there.

  3. it depends on the wheather or climate where the body is left if its hot it may decompose faster as to cold wheather it may take longer.

  4. if it is in a good casket i would guess a very very long time.  3 or 4 months i would guess.  maybe longer.

  5. It varies based on the environmental conditions but as far as in the casket and in ground and since theres usually some form of embalming. If the embalming job was good it can take decades to get to skeleton but if its a bad embalming job it can occur in about a year my source for this info is my dad was a undertaker when he was young. Hope it helps

  6. There is absolutely no way of knowing, as every body deacys at a different rate, depending on may factors, including the type of casket, vault and embalming fluid.  The weather and soil also play a big role.  I have seen bodies that were in perfect condition after being buried for 30 years and more, while others were decayed after several months.  There is no way to know the answer, because so many factors affect the rate of decomposition.  I have no idea where the above answerer got the answer of 12 years, because  is it impossible to know for sure.
