I'm getting a robo dwarf. I know that they are fast and everything from buying to caring. But how long does it take for it to get used to the new home and me and new sounds?

  1. I don't know about robo hamsters, but I have a dwarf hamster, and it took her about 2 weeks to get used to being around me and my family.

  2. it takes hamsters usually a week to feel comfortable with their new life. everyday you should let your hamster smell you and take food from your hands before you hold it.

  3. My hamster use to roll over and hiss whenever I tried taking her out of her cage.  I had to use gloves to hold her for a while because I was so afraid she was going to bite me.  I was also afraid she would run away and I wouldn't be able to find her - so I set up barriers (very good barriers) so she couldn't escape and played with her then.  In that first day she was already getting use to being held and played with.  It took about a week for her to become completely use to me.  Not all hamsters are this bad towards the beginning though.  You might just have to simply take her out and pet her every day for her to get use to you.

  4. it took me about a week, but it really depends on the hamsters personality. :)

  5. i am getting a blueberry dwarf next week! well i have had over many hamsters in my time, and if you want them to get used you you, you have to play with or hold them at least one hour each day.

it depends on the hamster. some are scared of their wheel at first and then the next day, do nothing but run in the wheel. and some take a lot longer. i had this cage for my hamster that had two stories, and she would never go up to the second ledge, and then after like a month or two of having her she finally went up there.  so it depends on the hamster.

  6. Give him a few days to settle into his new environment.  Try talking to him at first, keeping your hand still in the cage for a while, and try feeding him so sunflower seeds or any food from the dish.

  7. really it depends on each individual hamster. Some adjust quicker than others. I'd say anywhere from one full day (meaning 24 hours) to a week depending on the hamster. I've known some to adjust realllly quick, where as others took a long time.

  8. It really depends on how well you take care of it and how often you interact with it...it might take a few weeks for it to get used to its new home just make it nice and comfy!
