How long does it take from an offer being accepted to exchange of contracts?

We have had an offer accepted on a house, how long does it take before exchange of contracts? And then how long after that to complete?

Minimum for the whole process is six weeks, but more normally something like 12!

It really depends on the mortgage company and how quick they can get the funds where they need to be, maybe 2-3 weeks?

..........anywhere between a couple of weeks (I was lucky and got it done very quickly) to a couple of months - depending on who and how many people are in your chain, complications and how quickly your solicitors get things moving!
