    30 - 60 mins, £40 - £70.

    They can't even give you a good idea of the fare, because the taxis charge three different rates depending on the time of the day. There is also a timer on the meters, so that if the taxi slows down enough there is a surcharge added.

    I know your not interested, but the Paddington Express is not only cheaper, but it is faster. There are no intermediate stops and the train averages 60 mph. Paddington Station is just north of Hyde Park less than a mile from Marble Arch (beginning of Oxford St.). One way fare is £15.50.

    The train motto is "15 minutes every 15 minutes" , but it's actually 22 minutes from terminal #5. Train leaves 3, 18, 33, 48 minutes past the hour from terminals #1,#2,#3.
