  1. I took that slow train which carries cars... it 1 one day/night to get from Calais to the north of Italy... probably take 1.5  days to get to Rome.

  2. The fastest way to go by train between Paris and Rome is to take the train at 8:04 from Paris Gare de Lyon station to Milan and change to the Eurostar to Rome at 4 pm. You'll have an hour 50 minutes in Milan, but the total travel time is less than 12 and a half hours. The night train from Paris Bercy leaves at 7 pm and arrives at Roma Termini the next morning at 9:50 am. Other options connect through Turin or Milan and take 14 to 15 and a half hours.

  3. Fastest: 12 hrs 21 min  with 2 changes (Milan, Bologna) start 07:42 arrive 20:03

    2nd best 12 hrs 48 min with 1 change (Milan) start 07:42 arrive 20:30

Night: 14 hrs 52 min direct train start from Paris Bercy 18:59  arrive 09:51

    Milanio Centrale depart: 15:05

    Bologna Centale arrive: 16:52

    Bologna Centale depart: 17:24

    Roma Temini arrive: 20:03

Paris Gare du Lyon depart 07:42

    Milano Centrale arrive: 14:50

    Milanio Centrale depart: 16:00

    Roma Temini arrive: 20:30

    Paris Bercy depart: 18:59

    Roma Termini arrive: 09:51
