How long does it take lawyers to send mail after a speeding ticket?

I just got it on Friday. And how long will they keep sending them. I don't need them I already know what lawyer I will have to represent and it's quite annoying. Can I request from somewhere not to have them send me any mail?

  1. Call the office and tell them to remove you from the mailing list!

  2. This is a common occurrence when you get a traffic ticket and there really is no way to prevent it.  Tickets are a matter of public record and everyone has access to them.  There really is no way you can stop from getting them.  The best thing you can do is call the law offices and request that they stop, but in most cases, each firm only sends it once so it is kind of pointless to call.

  3. Although I don't know the answer to your question, I am shocked that anyone would use a lawyer to fight a speeding ticket.  Wouldn't the cost of the lawyer be several times the cost of the fine?

  4. The lawyers get your name and address from companies that search public records- and your ticket is a public record.  Some companies are faster than others and some law firms are fast than others.  It would make sense that they generate the letters as quickly as possible, before the ticket holder has chosen a lawyer, but as you see yourself, this is often not the case.
