My fiance and I have been having unprotected s*x for a little over three months and so far have not gotten pregnant. I have had symptoms of pregnancy two months in a row but my period has always happened on time. Except this month it was five days late and I took a home pregnancy test that turned out negative.I was just wondering what the chances of getting pregnant soon are.

  1. 6 months to a year is considered a normal amount of time for a healthy couple with no fertility problems.

  2. Getting pregnant is not as easy as you might think. A healthy couple at the prime reproductive age has about a 25% chance of conceiving each month. Only about half of all couples get pregnant within six months of trying, but most – 85% – do become pregnant within a year. Becoming pregnant takes time. Don’t assume it will happen right away. Good luck and baby dust to you:)

  3. Average for a couple with no fertility problems is 12 months.

  4. The truth is, you can get pregnant anytime.  My husband and I had unprotected s*x for 6 months using the ever-secure "pull-out" method, if you know what I mean.  The one time he chose not to "pull out" I got pregnant. So it really depends on how fertile you are.  Check out your family history, my mom got pregnant both times she got off the pill on the first try.  My sister forgot her birth control just once and got pregnant that night.  We are just easily impregnable (<-- I may have made that word up) it would seem.  And with something that important, I wouldn't leave it up to average- my hubbies aunt tried for 10 years to get pg and finally gave up.  Another 10 years later she was pregnant at 45.  They have a daughter 5 years old and a son 28.  Their daughter and granddaughter are only 3 years apart.

If you don't want to get pregnant, dont play the statistics, have him wrap it up.

If you do want to get pregnant well...you're on the right track! Keep it up.
