How long does it take receive the check from financial aid, after you sign the award letter?

I have already sign the award letter and when i checked the status on the financial aid page it said that my financial aid awarding process was completed on 07/07/08... by away do i have to pay this money back? Thanks in advance

  1. Is this for college? If so, you won't get the money until after the drop date which is usually a month after the semester starts. If its a loan then yes, you have to pay it back. But if its a grant, then you won't have to pay anything back.


  2. Depends on if it was a grant or a student loan.  If it was a grant, you don't have to pay it back, but a loan you will 6 months after you graduate and/or quit.

    Most of the time they send the money directly to your school and you don't ever get a check.  I went to college for 4 years, used student loans, parent loans, and grants... never got a check.

  3. they usually pay the school directly and then if there is anything less they will give u a check or deposit in an account at the school

    you pay 6 months after graduation...even if it is a stafford loan
