Is it seconds, minutes, or hours? I want to know because I need to know when to brush my teeth. I don't want to be washing my teeth in-between bite because sometime I might take a few minutes of break before I take another bite when I'm busy.

  1. ask a dentist

  2. plaque builds about every 20 mins creates an acid that breaks down your tooth causing a cavity. If you haven't brush it makes the plaque double the more you snack in between on carbs, sugary, starch foods every 20 mins. So really the cavity grows depending on the amount of time all that plaque acid was on your tooth burning a cavity on your tooth with out having it removed being feed by eating carb food. no this doesn't mean to walk around with a tooth brush, to brush every 20 mins but as long as your brushing after every meal, and flossing you should be ok, it won't build up. Also get check ups yearly and cleaning every six months....
