I'm taking LNA classes. They are 6 weeks long....I wanted to eventually be an RN. How long does it take to train as an RN?

Does being an LNA speed up the process at all? or no?

  1. 4 years

  2. Around my parts it takes 2 years for your Associates Degree in nursing.  1st year is alot of classroom and the second is clinicals and classroom.  Good Luck to ya!!

  3. Associate's with RN - two years AFTER completing a year of prerequisites.  BSN - three year AFTER completing prerequisites.

  4. NO it doesn't speed it up but it does give you some experience and an opportunity to see if that is something you want to go to 4 years of school for.

  5. I am in nursing school right now (RN/BSN) and it is 12 months long, but I am in an accelerated program..most programs are 2 years long.

Being an LNA will certainly help you in your Foundations/Fundamentals course first semester.

    Good luck! We need you!
