My husband is from the UK and Im a US citizen. We married in October 2005 and I applied in January 2007 to bring him to the US with me. My petition was approved in May 07 and he recieved documents that he had to fill out and return for processing. He did that right away and they recieved them the end of May 07. Now we are just waiting to hear back from them for the interview. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to process the documents? Its been 6 months and on the embassy site it says around 3-4 months. Any help would be great. Thanks so much.

  1. Timelines have lengthened lately.  If you do not hear within a month, have your husband call the premium-rate number with all his information to hand.  Emailing is not good.  They will delete it without reading it if it doesn't have a code number supplied by the premium rate line.  Calling the embassy direct is frowned upon.  It was even frowned upon when I was immigrating in 2001 and I believe it has gotten worse since then.
