How long does it take to beat age of empires?

I am planning on buyin the age of empire $10.00 deal at wal mart. and want to know how long it will keep me playing. I dont think I will get it if it only takes like a couple days to beat. please be very discriptive and you will be best answer. thank you ALL!

For $10.00 you won't find too many better gaming values considering how many hours of fun this game will provide. If you have any fondness for strategy games, believe me, you will play it for much more than a couple of days!

Age of Empires is one of those strategy games that takes forever to play.  Levels and missions can easily last 2 or 3+ hours, and there are tons of campaigns to play, especially if you buy the expansion packs.  And that's before you get into the multiplayer aspect of it- playing online with a group of friends is a lot of fun.  Especially with the scenario editor and large online modding community, Age of Empires has a lot of replay value and definitely has the potential to keep you occupied for a long time.
